FAQ
FAQ's
Can I work with you virtually?
Yes! I offer Telehealth appointments through a HIPAA compliant video chat platform that you can access on your laptop, tablet, or phone. This allows you the flexibility to schedule appointments when they are convenient for you without the need for travel time.
I can work virtually via 1:1 Telehealth sessions with clients who live in the following states*: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
*This does not apply to group classes and online courses.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I am currently an in-network provider for Regence, Premera, and Cigna. If you have insurance outside of these networks we are more than happy to provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out of network reimbursement. Each insurance company and policy is different so you will need to call and find out you’re out of network coverage. You can use this form to call and verify your nutrition benefits coverage.

Insurance plans and policies can vary greatly. Please call your insurance company to determine your Medical Nutrition Therapy coverage, diagnoses accepted, copayments and any deductibles. It is especially important that you verify if your nutrition benefits cover Telehealth appointments.
We are not a participating Medicare provider.
What if I'm not using insurance?
That’s completely okay—most of my clients work with me outside of insurance.
My ideal approach when working with clients expands beyond just medical nutrition therapy. Working outside of insurance allows us the freedom to take a more personalized and comprehensive approach to your health without the restrictions that often come with insurance-based care.
I offer several ways to work together, including private 1:1 support, group programs, and online courses, so you can choose the level of support that feels right for you.
The best way to start is to book a discovery call so we can talk about your goals and determine the best fit for your needs.
Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA)?
Yes! If you have a Health Savings Account through your employer you may use those funds towards nutrition counseling. Some HSA’s require a doctor’s referral for a medical condition to qualify. Check with your HR department for details.
Questions About Health, Alignment, and the Body
What does a functional nutritionist do?
A functional nutritionist helps identify and address the root causes of health concerns rather than only managing symptoms. This approach looks at how nutrition, digestion, hormones, stress, sleep, and lifestyle patterns interact to influence overall health and wellbeing.
Instead of using a one-size-fits-all plan, functional nutrition focuses on understanding how your body is functioning as a whole and creating personalized strategies to restore balance and support long-term vitality.
In my work, I also integrate nervous system regulation, circadian rhythm biology, and energetic alignment to help clients reconnect with their body’s natural signals and create sustainable change from the inside out.
Can nutrition really affect hormones, mood, and energy?
Nutrition plays a key role in many body systems. Nutrients influence hormone production, gut health, neurotransmitters, and cellular energy, which can affect mood, metabolism, sleep, and resilience to stress.
Can stress and nervous system dysregulation affect physical health?
Yes. When the body remains in a chronic stress response, it can influence digestion, hormones, sleep, and energy levels. Supporting the nervous system and restoring a sense of safety in the body can be an important part of the healing process.
What does it mean to live in energetic alignment?
Living in energetic alignment means honoring the natural rhythms, needs, and signals of your body rather than constantly pushing against them. When we live out of alignment—whether through chronic stress, overworking, ignoring our body’s signals, or trying to fit into patterns that aren’t sustainable—our nervous system and physiology can become dysregulated.
Energetic alignment is about reconnecting with the body’s innate wisdom and creating a lifestyle that supports your unique energy, rhythm, and capacity. Tools like functional nutrition, circadian rhythm alignment, and Human Design can help illuminate where misalignment may be occurring and how to restore a greater sense of balance, vitality, and trust in the body.
